I was frustrated trying to arrange a mountain biking trip in Turkmenistan. The government there requires that you have a government sanctioned guide – but it seems those guides don’t want to ride bikes – so I decided on whim to go pedal around Jordan instead.
I found a Jordanian adventure tour operator, www.terhaal.com, and emailed Rakan at Terhaal, because I didn’t see any tours for over the X-Mas holidays. Rakan said that was because Terhaal was running a trip for a company in the UK, but he said I could join them. So I did.
